College Football Best Bets: Picks & Analysis For Marshall vs. UConn In The Myrtle Beach Bowl On Monday, December 19

College football's bowl season usually has multiple games taking place each day, but Monday, December 19 features a standalone game between the UConn Huskies and Marshall Thundering Herd in the Myrtle Beach Bowl in Conway, South Carolina. This game will kick off at 2:30PM ET, when the Huskies will try to win their first bowl game since 2010. Interestingly enough, these two also clashed in a bowl game back in 2015, when Marshall beat UConn by six in the St. Petersburg Bowl at Tropicana Field. With that said, keep reading for our best bet for Monday. Our college football picks were very profitable for us during the regular season and we're confident we can continue providing winners the rest of the way.

If you haven't already, you should consider signing up for DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️ as you can turn a $5 pre-game moneyline bet on any game into a free $150 if your team wins.

College Football Best Bet For The Monday, December 19 Bowl Game

Myrtle Beach Bowl: Marshall Thundering Herd vs. UConn Huskies - 2:30PM ET

It's remarkable what Jim Mora was able to do in his first year with UConn, as he has the team playing in its first bowl game since 2015. The Huskies had a preseason win total of 2.5 games, but he ended up leading them to six wins. Now, they'll be trying to go out and keep things tight in a meeting with the Thundering Herd, and we like their chances of doing just that.

UConn is getting a lot of points in this game, but the team has the right recipe for keeping its battles close. The Huskies run the ball a lot and they do it very well, as they rushed for at least 200 yards in each of their final three games of the regular season. Being able to successfully move the ball on the ground is massive when you're a heavy underdog, as it keeps the opposing offense off the field and it also helps the clock continue to run.

The Huskies don't exactly have a bell cow or anything, but they have a number of capable backs that can get it going with their legs. The one we're keeping an eye on here is Victor Rosa, who rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown in UConn's final game of the year. He has now rushed for at least 60 yards in five of his last six games, and he has found the end zone seven times in that span.

UConn also finished the season after having covered in seven of its final eight games, and the team was 9-3 against the spread on the season, overall. Meanwhile, Marshall was just 1-3 ATS when playing as a double-digit favorite this season, so it's hard to trust the Thundering Herd in this spot.
