In For Six: Breaking Down The Six Biggest College Football Games of Week 12

1. TCU Horned Frogs vs. Baylor Bears - 12:00PM ET

TCU continues to find ways to win. The Horned Frogs offensive line gave up five sacks against Texas and struggled offensively. The defense stepped up to win them the game on the road.

Baylor was tied for second in the Big 12 before falling flat on its face against Kansas State. The Bears are one of the more inconsistent teams in the country.

LEAN: Baylor +3 - While it’s hard to determine what Baylor team we will see, the Bears haven’t played a bad game in back-to-back weeks. TCU has gone through a gauntlet this season. The Horned Frogs have beaten five ranked teams this season and are 4-0 in one-possession games. At some point, that schedule has to catch up to them.

2. Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Michigan Wolverines - 12:00PM ET

Michigan has one more game before its colossal matchup against Ohio State next week. The Wolverines are looking to get back to the College Football Playoff this season.

This normally would be a typical look ahead spot for any other team. However, Illinois plays a similar style to Michigan, but the Wolverines are a much better football team at that style, which is dominating the line of scrimmage and running the football.

LEAN: Over 43 - We think Michigan won’t have a problem scoring points at all, especially given Illinois’ defensive struggles in the past few weeks. The Wolverines will dominate the line of scrimmage and control this game from start to finish. The point total is too low here, so we will take the Over.

3. Georgia Bulldogs vs. Kentucky Wildcats - 3:30PM ET

Georgia hits the road for the second time in as many weeks. Kentucky is coming off of a terrible loss against Vanderbilt.

The Wildcats have struggled offensively in recent weeks. Quarterback Will Levis has thrown three touchdown passes and four interceptions in Kentucky’s past four games. Those games were against the 85th-ranked (Tennessee), 123rd-ranked (Vanderbilt) and the 34th-ranked (Missouri) total defenses in the nation.

LEAN: Georgia -22.5 - Given Kentucky’s offensive woes, Georgia should hold the Wildcats to minimal points. The Bulldogs offense is extremely underrated as well. Quarterback Stetson Bennett is playing at an NFL level. We like Georgia to cover the spread on the road.

4. Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Oklahoma Sooners - 7:30PM ET

This game has lost its luster compared to previous editions of Bedlam. Oklahoma State got a bounce-back win last week against Iowa State. The question for them is if Spencer Sanders will be healthy enough at quarterback. If Sanders doesn’t play, it might be hard for the Cowboys to score enough points to win this game.

Oklahoma is still looking for that elusive sixth win to get to bowl eligibility. First year coach Brent Venables is off to a rocky start in Norman. If he can get a win here after getting demolished in the Red River Shootout against Texas, that could have Sooner fans feeling better heading into next season.

LEAN: Oklahoma State +7 - This spread is simply too big. The right team is favored; however, this spread should be within a touchdown no matter who plays quarterback for Oklahoma State. The DimersBOT identifies that there is a 12.8% edge with an Oklahoma State money line bet, so consider sprinkling some on the Cowboys.

5. USC Trojans vs. UCLA Bruins - 8:00PM ET

The Pac-12 will be under the spotlight this week. Despite UCLA and Oregon practically eliminating themselves from playoff contention last week, there are still two really good games with high stakes on Saturday.

Crosstown rivals USC and UCLA meet on Saturday in the Rose Bowl. This is the highest stakes game between these two programs in a long time. The Trojans would clinch a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game with a win. UCLA would put themselves right back in the title picture with a win.

LEAN: Under 75.5 - Both of these teams have really good offenses. UCLA is ranked fifth in total offense and USC is ranked seventh in total offense in FBS. However, both teams are relatively inexperienced in big games, so the offenses could be a bit shaky early on. We like the Under in this game. USC’s ability to force turnovers will certainly help as well.

6. Utah Utes vs. Oregon Ducks - 10:30PM ET

Utah and Oregon will meet in another high stakes Pac-12 clash. Both the Utes and Ducks are a half game behind USC for first place in the Pac-12 standings. A win here would put that team at a significant advantage to make the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Utah has the best defense in the Pac-12. The Utes are ranked 22nd in total defense in FBS. The last time Oregon faced a top-25 defense, the Ducks put up three points (vs. Georgia).

LEAN: Utah +3 - Oregon quarterback Bo Nix will need to make plays to give Utah’s defense headaches. His dual-threat ability will be truly put to the test. We are riding with the Utes and their defense in this game. Don’t forget about the Utah offense led by quarterback Cam Rising and running back Tavion Thomas either.
