Florida State vs. LSU Best Bets, Predictions and Analysis
Spread Breakdown
Last week, three different players rushed for over 100 yards in Florida State's win over Duquesne, while five total players ran for touchdowns in the victory. This meeting with LSU will make it a lot tougher for Mike Norvell's team to run the ball, but we still think the Seminoles will find a way to do it. Last year, the Tigers were inconsistent in their ability to stop the run. And Norvell's bunch has improved significantly along the offensive line since last season.
Quarterback Jordan Travis barely even ran the ball in Florida State's opener, as he didn't need to put himself in harm's way while picking that opponent apart through the air. But he's a great runner and he'll put a lot of pressure on an LSU defense that is far from proven at this point. And the fact that he'll have the Tigers on their toes gives Florida State's coaches the ability to open up the playbook.

Defensively, the pass rush is a bit of a question mark for Florida State this season, but this should be a good group overall. LSU also happens to have a lot of concerns along the offensive line, so it's entirely possible that the Seminoles will be living in the backfield in this one. That's one of the many reasons to like Florida State in this game, even if the team will be playing in a hostile environment.
Kelly has generally been a remarkable coach when it comes to covering the spread, but he has a lot of work to do before truly making this LSU team his own. We think the Seminoles will roll into enemy territory and potentially pull off a stunner.

Over/Under Breakdown
DimersBOT gives this game a 53% chance of going Under the total and it's not hard to figure out why. These are two teams that are going to be relying heavily on the running game this year, and they also will both have mobile quarterbacks out there. With that said, the clock will be running quite a bit in this game, and even successful drives will take some time. That's something you want when betting on a game to be lower in scoring.

The Under also happens to be 9-6 in the 15 games that Florida State has played as an underdog under Norvell. It's also 5-2 in the seven games the Seminoles have played with a line between +3 and -3 in that span.
Best Bet: Seminoles vs. Tigers
The Tigers are a really talented football team, but they still have some holes to plug before rising to the level of a Kelly-led program. Florida State isn't exactly anything special right now, but the team does some things that LSU might not be equipped to handle at the moment. For that reason, we're taking the points and riding with the Seminoles +3.
We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $200 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if Florida State doesn't cover, new customers still get $200 just for joining and betting $5 on the game. You can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
