Clemson vs. Georgia Tech Best Bets, Predictions and Analysis

Spread Breakdown

Clemson is coming off a "down year" for the program, yet the Tigers still won 10 games and earned a victory in their bowl game. Now, Swinney gets 15 starters back from last year's group, with nine of them coming from the offense. Four of those nine are offensive line starters, which is always a great sign if you want to be an elite team. The Tigers should do a better job of blocking up front this season, and that will make life on quarterback DJ Uiagalelei a lot easier.

If Clemson is able to get Uiagalelei going this year, a championship is well within reason. Otherwise, the Tigers will turn to Cade Klubnik, who is expected to be the next great Clemson quarterback. But either way, we don't see quarterback play being much of an issue against Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets only bring back three defensive starters from a group that wasn't even good last year. This has the potential to be a statement performance from the Clemson offense in Week 1.

With the Georgia Tech defense looking like a weak group, it's just hard to see how this team will cover the 24-point spread. This game might be in Atlanta, but Clemson fans travel really well and it wouldn't be surprising if the Tigers end up having more crowd support. Also, the Yellow Jackets lost their best offensive player in running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who transferred to Alabama after last season. With that said, Clemson's defense will have a good opportunity to settle in, in its first year without defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

All in all, this is a game that a lot of people will be watching on Monday, but those tuning in will mostly just be getting a chance to see Clemson steamrolling a weaker conference opponent.

Over/Under Breakdown

Prior to scoring only 14 points against Georgia Tech last year, Clemson had scored at least 49 points in each of the previous three match-ups between these programs. This year, Clemson's offense is expected to get back to being a special unit. and that is bad news for Georgia Tech fans but great news for Over bettors.

The Over happens to be 11-8-1 when Clemson has played as a road favorite of 14.5 or more points under Swinney, which is something to keep an eye on here. The Tigers generally roll teams when they are expected to win big, and that is a big part of the reason we see the Over hitting in this game.

Best Bet: Tigers vs. Yellow Jackets

Before last year's 14-8 win for Clemson over Georgia Tech, the Over had comfortably hit in three meetings in a row between these two teams. That was because the Yellow Jackets were unable to stop the Tigers offense, and we expect to see more of that. That's why we're rolling with the Over 51 as our best bet here.

We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $200 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Over doesn't hit, new customers still get $200 just for joining and betting at least $5 on the gameYou can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
