Houston remains our model's most probable champion, sitting atop the model's rankings for the second consecutive week. We give the Cougars an 8.4% probability to win the national championship, down slightly from 8.6% last week. Sitting at +700 odds, they are the betting favorite as well.

The Cougars are clicking at the right time, and continue to dominate conference play in the American. It is looking more and more like Houston could hold the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama is our model's 2nd-most probable champion. We give the Crimson Tide a 6.7% probability to win the national championship, down slightly from 6.8% last week. You can bet Alabama to win it all at +1000 odds.

Alabama is shrouded in controversy at the moment, as news came to light that Brandon Miller transported the gun that his former teammate Darius Miles then handed to the suspect who pulled the trigger in the murder of Jamea Harris in January. Miller has not been suspended and has continued to play all season long. Miller's status down the stretch and how the team handles this news emotionally will decide whether or not Alabama can truly make a run.

3. Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas is our model's 3rd-most probable champion. We give the Jayhawks a 6.1% probability to win the national championship, up from 5.1% last week. You can bet Kansas to win it all at +1000 odds.

Kansas is our biggest riser in the Top 5, storming back from down double digits to defeat Baylor and then going on the road to TCU and coming out with a win. The Jayhawks look like a legitimate threat to repeat as national champions.

4. Purdue Boilermakers

Purdue is our model's 4th-most probable champion. We give the Boilermakers a 6.0% probability to win the national championship, down from 6.6% last week. You can bet Purdue to win it all at +1000 odds.

The gap is closing on Purdue in the Big Ten, as they hold a narrow lead over Northwestern heading into the stretch run. Purdue is a bit one-dimensional, and will need their freshman guards to step up big time to win six straight in the NCAA Tournament.

5. Arizona Wildcats

Arizona is our model's 5th-most probable champion. We give the Wildcats a 4.8% probability to win the national championship, up from 4.5% last week. You can bet Arizona to win it all at +1400 odds.

Arizona jumped their PAC-12 counterpart UCLA in this week's rankings, making their first appearance in our top five since earlier in the season. The Wildcats are led by star big man Azuolas Tubelis, who is a likely first team All-American at season's end.
