College Basketball Best Bets for Wednesday, March 1

Providence Friars vs. Xavier Musketeers - 6:30PM ET

There has been no better team at home in college basketball over the last two seasons than Ed Cooley's Providence Friars. Providence is 15-0 at home this season and 13 of those 15 wins have come by more than 3.5 points. Xavier has not been the same team without their frontcourt star Zach Freemantle. The Musketeers have lost three of the last five, including a horrible performance at Butler and a loss to an average Villanova team. We like Providence here.

BET: Providence -3.5 (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Maryland Terrapins vs. Ohio State Buckeyes - 7:00PM ET

Ohio State shocked everyone with a decisive victory last game at home vs. Illinois. That doesn't change the fact that Ohio State has been one of the most disappointing teams in the country for three months. The Buckeyes have now lost 14 of their last 16 games, and have only covered the spread twice in that span. Maryland has been playing great basketball, winning eight of their last 10 games. They have wins by 16 points over a good Northwestern team and a great Purdue team in the last two weeks. We love Maryland here.

BET: Maryland -2 (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Northwestern Wildcats vs. Penn State Nittany Lions - 9:00PM ET

Northwestern is 5-1 in their last six Big Ten home games with impressive wins over Indiana, Iowa and Purdue. Penn State was playing for their tournament lives last game when they blew a massive lead at home against Rutgers, scoring just three points in the final eight minutes. The Nittany Lions are just 1-5 on the road vs. teams that will make the NCAA Tournament this season. Last game's collapse is the type of loss that can linger, and we expect that to happen tonight.

BET: Northwestern -3.5 (-110) at DraftKings Sportsbook
