Purdue Boilermakers vs. Michigan State Spartans - 2:30PM ET

It's a battle for Big Ten supremacy this afternoon as Purdue and Michigan State face off with conference title implications on the line, even early in the season. Both teams have played good basketball lately, and with Michigan State at home today, this feels like a spot where the Spartans really need a win. It will be easier said than done though, as Malik Hall may be out due to injury.

The Spartans only have two losses this season with Malik Hall playing (Gonzaga and at Illinois) and have looked like one of the best teams in the country with him active. Without him, they are just 5-3, and suffered some bad losses. Without much depth, Michigan State's veterans will have to play 30-35 minutes each, and that is a scary proposition when they will need to double team Zach Edey start to finish. Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers - 6:00PM ET

While Illinois has been very up and down throughout the season, nobody has questioned the Illini when they play their best. Their ceiling is as high as anyone in the sport, proven by impressive wins against UCLA and Texas earlier this season. While they looked like a team that was caving in on itself just a few weeks ago, brad Underwood's team seems to have gotten things back on track.

After freshman point guard Skyy Clark elected to leave the team, Illinois has now gone 3-0. Barttorvik's model has them playing as if they are the 13th best team in the sport during that span. Minnesota is a team that has gotten blown out at home against good teams - the Gophers are 0-4 at home this season against Top 200 teams, losing by an average of 12.75 points per contest.

Miami Hurricanes vs. Syracuse Orange - 7:00PM ET

Miami has a case as best team in the ACC this season, and they'll look to solidify their status as a contender with a statement win at home against Syracuse, who has not beaten a good team away from home this season. In three games outside of their home arena against top 100 teams, Syracuse is 0-3 losing by an average of 14.3 points per game.

Miami's offense is lethal - ranked 11th in the country and has a great matchup against the Syracuse zone that is really struggling this year, and is ranked just 130th in the country defensively. Hurricanes star Isaiah Wong has had success against Cuse in his career, with three wins in four games.
