Best NBA Bets Today

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers, 7:30PM ET

The Sixers lost to the Boston Celtics in their season opener on Tuesday, but the most important thing is that James Harden looked like a superstar again. He finished that game with 35 points on only 14 shots, and he also had eight rebounds and seven assists. For the first time since coming together as teammates, he and Joel Embiid also looked unstoppable as pick-and-roll partners. That's a great sign heading into a meeting with a Bucks team that is lacking in firepower with Khris Middleton out. 

Milwaukee also hasn't played a game yet this year, so the team hasn't had the ability to get its feet wet on the young season. Having to do so in front of a raucous Philadelphia crowd won't exactly be the best setting. Also, since the start of the 2020-21 season, the Sixers are 10-4 straight-up and 8-6 ATS when coming off a loss against a division rival. 

This is just a tough spot for the Bucks to get thrown into the fire, and the Sixers are going to be treating this like a must-win game. This is, by far, the most talented team they've had since Embiid became the face of the franchise, and they do not want to start the year in an 0-2 hole. And this spread isn't big enough to scare us off of backing who we like to win. It doesn't hurt that the Bucks are 8-19 ATS as regular-season 'dogs over the last three seasons.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 10:00PM ET

If you watched the Lakers play the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, you probably saw that they're still pretty weak defensively. The Lakers gave up 123 points in that game and it would have been a lot more if Golden State didn't take its foot off the gas midway through the fourth quarter. With that said, the addition of Patrick Beverley hasn't yet been able to offset having Russell Westbrook and LeBron James not competing hard enough to defend when they're caught on the perimeter. 

With all of that in mind, the Clippers have a pretty good shot at putting a huge number on the board and carrying Over bettors home in this one. This team has Kawhi Leonard and Paul George healthy together for the first time in a while, and those two will now be surrounded by outstanding shooters. It'll be fun to see the kind of offense the group can produce, but we'd suspect it'll be rather deadly.

Look for the Lakers to also play their part in putting points up, as this stage should bring the best out of LeBron and Anthony Davis. We like this game to be one with fireworks, so we're playing the Over.
