Best NBA Bets Today

Golden State Warriors vs. Detroit Pistons, 6:00PM ET

The Warriors are coming off of an overtime loss to the Hornets, which shows that this is definitely a vulnerable team right now. Not only did Golden State prove that it is capable of losing to mediocre Eastern Conference opponents already, but the Warriors could also be rather tired having to go out and play the day after that one.

This is also a Golden State team that has struggled in bunches to cover the spread over the years, as the Warriors are 3-15 against the spread when playing on the road after having failed to cover in three of their previous four games since the start of last season. Meanwhile, the Pistons are 44-28 ATS when coming off a game where they didn't cover since the start of the 2020-21 season.

Detroit also happens to have a feisty young group and will be looking to go out there and compete at a high level in a game against the defending champs. Don't be surprised if this environment brings the best out of guys like Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey. Also, a struggling Warriors defense could have some trouble containing a sniper like Bojan Bogdanovic. This is just too many points to be giving a home team right now.

BET: Pistons +7.5 (-107) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs, 7:00PM ET

We nearly saw the Spurs cover in back-to-back road games against the Timberwolves last week, but they ultimately ended up splitting that pair of contests. But we think San Antonio returning home should make a sizable difference, which is why we're rolling with the Spurs to cover at home in this spot.

This young San Antonio squad is coming off of a win over Chicago on Friday, and the Spurs have now won four of their last five games. They're up to ninth in the league in offensive rating right now, and they just have proven to be a lot more competitive than expected thus far.

We just like the way this Spurs team matches up with the Timberwolves, even with two-way stud Devin Vassell expected to miss this game. San Antonio still has Tre Jones to be a menace on both ends of the floor at the point guard spot. Keldon Johnson is a tremendous young wing that will be looking to hold his own against Anthony Edwards. And Jakob Poeltl is one of the better defensive bigs in the NBA, and he's plenty capable of making Rudy Gobert or Karl-Anthony Towns work for everything.

At this point in the year, we're just not sure the Timberwolves deserve to be favored by this much on the road against a solid team. We're keeping it simple and taking the points.

BET: Spurs +6 (-105) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.

Orlando Magic vs. Dallas Mavericks, 7:30PM ET

The Magic earned their first win of the year on Friday and they did it with a big lineup that consisted of four starters that are at least 6-foot-10. That style of play might not be sustainable the rest of the season, but we do see it giving the Mavericks enough trouble for Orlando to come through with a cover in this game.

This young Magic team can use its length to try and throw Luka Doncic off his game. And while we don't think they'll do that successfully enough to earn a win outright, it isn't crazy to think that Orlando will lose this game by less than 10 points. The Magic are probably feeling more confident than they have all year after finally getting in the win column, and they're also getting the Mavericks off a home loss as 10.5-point favorites against the Thunder.

Dallas happens to be just 7-10 ATS when playing as a home favorite of 6.5 to 12 points under Jason Kidd, so these types of games have given them trouble in the past. We also don't see the Mavericks having much of a shot at stopping rookie Paolo Banchero, who we anticipate becoming a favorite for whoever ends up backing Orlando here.

BET: Magic +9.5 (-107)  with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.
