Best NBA Bets Today

Pelicans vs. Hornets, 7:00PM ET

Both teams took care of business in their opening games of the year to begin their seasons 1-0. The Hornets dismantled the tanking Spurs, but it was the Pelicans whose performance was more impressive, destroying the title-contending Nets in devastating fashion. It's clear that this New Orleans ball club are going to be a good team this year and they face another chance to make a statement tonight. Charlotte are without LaMelo Ball who will miss through injury, and while they were able to coast against San Antonio, they'll really feel the loss of one of their main playmakers tonight.

Spurs vs. Pacers, 7:00PM ET

The Spurs were at their very awful best in their first game of the year against the Hornets, losing by 27 points in what will be a sight to get used to over the next 81 games while they chase the No. 1 pick in the draft. They match up tonight against the Pacers who suffer from a similar affliction of a lack of talent but will still win some games this year with a decent enough core group of players that includes Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. The line is relatively small tonight and a great opportunity to fade a San Antonio team that have very little motivation to get their season off to a good start.

Pistons vs. Knicks, 7:30PM ET

Detroit looked very nice indeed in their first up win against the Magic on Wednesday night, blending an old head of Bojan Bogdanovich with their young draftees in Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey providing some polish. This team is still mostly young and will make mistakes but they are moving in the right direction and face a very winnable game at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks. New York did add Jalen Brunson to this lineup over the season but they are still not impressive enough to give you belief that they can walkover teams like Detroit. The 7-point line feels excessive.
