Even though they've lost two of their last three games, the Sixers have been a hell of a lot more competitive than most would have expected with Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey all missing with injury. Those guys will be out again on Friday night for Philly's tilt against the Magic, but this is a winnable game nonetheless. 

The Magic are not without their injury problems either with at least four key guys listed as gametime decisions heading into the clash. Paolo Banchero might yet return to try and get this Orlando team out of a slump with four losses in their last five games. The 76ers will go small in the backcourt with Harrell and PJ Tucker starting, a byproduct of Emiid missing, but something that could work to their advantage with their experience on show as they try to move around the Magic twin towers of Bol Bol and Mo Bamba. We're taking the points.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. New York Knicks, 7:30PM ET

The Blazers are well in the mix of the top contenders in the Western Conference but sit 10th in a logjam of teams with similar records. Their task to stay in the hunt gets harder with Damian Lillard continuing to miss through injury. The team's record without Lillard this year sits at 3-4 and their chances night-to-night really depend on the ability of Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant to lead the charge. With a trip to the Garden against the inconsistent Knicks ahead of them, our data projections expects the Blazer supporting cast to step up in the absence of their marquee man and keep things close.

Washington Wizards vs. Miami Heat, 8:00PM ET

The Wizards and Heat have traded blows already over the past week, splitting two games, with each team winning on their home court. The two squads have remained in South Beach for the holiday weekend to play for a third time and not surprisingly, the line with the sportsbooks have skewed in favor of the home team.

While the Heat were able to pull out an 8 point win on Wednesday, the Wiz could be boosted by the return of Bradley Beal who missed that game with a quads injury. Even without Beal, this Washington team has been plucky and have been playing better team ball than Miami who have looked generally old and and slow - ranking in the bottom five teams in the league for pace. We've got Washington making amends.
