Thursday MLB Parlay Analysis

Los Angeles Angels vs St. Louis Cardinals, 1:15PM ET

LEG 1: Mike Trout to Record a Hit (-200) with DraftKings

Yesterday, we got robbed. We hit two of three legs. The only miss was Xander Bogaerts to record a hit. He went 0-5. Normally, I would move chalk it up to the game, but Bogaerts had a hit, however, Juan Soto had a base running error that turned the hit into a Fielder’s Choice.

If you want to see the bad beat, go to my Twitter @CallingOurShot and watch the video itself.

Oh well. We move on.

Everyone take a long hard look at Mike Trout today because if he does not get a hit, he will no longer be allowed in the Parlay of the Day.

Trout, one of the best hitters in the MLB, has cost us some coin this season failing to get it done. I am hoping today, he isn’t the one to cost us coin.

Trout enters this game hitting .296, let’s hope he improves that average. Trout has a hit in 11 of his last 14 games. Being that they are on the road, I expect Trout to have 5+ plate appearances.

His first few plate appearances will be against Jack Flaherty. Flaherty is known for given up his fair share of hits. 5, 4, 5 and 7 hits in his last four starts.

My main concern with Flaherty is him walking Trout. Jack has 2+ walks in three straight starts.

However, Trout hasn’t been walking nearly as much this season, and he better not start today.

Trout, I’m looking at you. One hit. Get it done. The Cardinals bullpen hasn’t been great this season either. You should have plenty of chances!

Baltimore Orioles vs Kansas City Royals, 2:10 PM ET

LEG 2: Adley Rutschman to Record a Hit (-245) with DraftKings

Adley Rutschman, I am counting on you. The Orioles Catcher is batting .313 this season. He will face Jordan Lyles.

I’m going to be honest: Jordan Lyles isn’t great. The former Baltimore Orioles has allowed 8, 8, 3, 4 & 7 hits in his last five starts. The Orioles should have no problem getting some guys on base.

Rutschman bats 2nd in their lineup. Potentially 5+ plate appearances. Hurt me good, Adley.

And I failed to mention, the DimersBot loves Rutschman giving us an 8% edge here. The Bot has been dialed in dishing out winners left and right. I expect another easy winner here.

Adley is always a tough out at the plate. I expect some long battles with Lyles ending in him throwing a meatball straight down the middle of the plate. Adley will take care of the rest for us.

Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins, 4:10 PM ET

LEG 3: Ronald Acuna Jr. to Record a Hit (-220) with DraftKings

Leg 3, to take us home, is our friend Ronald Acuna Jr. He’s batting .355 this season. If you watched our daily Best Bets video on YouTube, you’d know that I actually think the Braves lose today, but best case scenario: they lose with Acuna still getting us a hit.

Acuna leads off for the Braves. He has a tough matchup vs. Jesus Luzardo. Acuna is 1/6 lifetime vs Luzardo, not great. However, I still believe in Ronald.

He’s batting .316 vs. Lefties (Luzardo is a lefty). My favorite part about backing a guy like Ronald is his speed. He has the ability to get an infield single.

Ronald will hustle down the line, and sometimes that can be the difference between a hit and an out. I won’t overcomplicate this one today. Take us home in the late afternoon, Ronald. We aren’t asking for much!
