Thursday MLB Parlay Analysis

Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Yankees, 4:05 PM ET

LEG 1: Taylor Ward to Record a Hit (-205) with DraftKings

Yesterday, we cashed our parlay! It took a Jon Berti miracle, but a cash is a cash making it three of our last four parlays. Today, we go for four of five and it starts with Taylor Ward.

Ward typically bats leadoff for the Angels, so he should see four plate appearances today, with the chance of 5+. The DimersBOT loves this spot for Ward giving this a 4.1% edge, and I am equally as confident Ward gets the job done.

Ward is batting .236 this season with a .329 OBP. He tends to draw walks a lot, but I am not concerned about that today as Nestor Cortes has one of the lowest walk rates in the MLB.

Ward will have his work cut out for himself against Cortes. Ward is fresh off an 0-4 game, so he couldn’t hit worse than he did yesterday.

Ward is typically not a guy looking for power. He’s happy with his singles to get on base and let Trout and Ohtani do what they do best, driving in runs. I am feeling a bounce back from Ward, all we need is one hit.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:35 PM ET

LEG 2: Tyler Stephenson to Record a Hit (-225) with DraftKings

Here’s another that the DimersBOT and I love. Giving this a 3.7% edge, that just feels too low. The bot is being modest.

If you don’t know who Tyler Stephenson is, that’s okay, allow me to introduce him to you: Stephenson is the Reds’ Catcher.

He’s batting .258 on the season and today he gets Roansy Contreras and the Pirates bullpen. Stephenson has a hit in 12 of 16 games played in April.

Contreras has allowed six and nine hits in his last two starts. We only need one hit out of Stephenson today, which he’s capable of doing. He has no plate appearances vs. Contreras but that’s not an issue for me.

He’s been hitting the ball well and he typically bats in the four slot in the lineup, so the Reds trust him to drive in those runs. Tyler can get this done with ease.

Colorado Rockies vs Philadelphia Phillies, 6:41 PM ET

LEG 3: Yonathan Daza to Record a Hit (-190) with DraftKings

Yonathan Daza is the last leg to record a hit today. While not a household name, we think he has a good chance against Matt Strahm and the Phillies today. 

Matt Strahm really struggled in his last outing with walks, so we expect him to throw more strikes in this start. Giving a hitter like Daza more pitches to hit is exactly what we need today.

Strahm is a left-handed pitcher, and a good matchup for Daza. Daza is hitting .294 vs lefties this season. 

Daza struggled in his last series vs the Pirates, but the change of scenery could benefit him. Prior to the Pittsburgh series, Daza recorded a hit in seven out of eight games. 

Daza starts a new hit streak today and gets us a hit to cash this parlay!
