Phillies vs. Braves, 1:07PM ET

The Braves are heavy favorites to continue their title defense with a series win over the Phillies, and with good reason: this team has been methodical and have primed their run, leaving their best baseball for the end of the season. While Philadelphia were able to get past the Cardinals with relative ease in the Wild Card, they'll find things extremely tough out of the gates this afternoon against the might of starting Atlanta ace Max Fried. He'll be a dependable foundation for the Braves who will be setting their sights on navigating through the early innings against Ranger Suarez and moving onto the Phils' bullpen who have struggled mightily recently, giving up an ERA of 5.87 over their last 10 games. If the Braves establish a lead early, they'll run away with it.

Guardians vs. Yankees, 7:37PM ET

The Guardians will walk into Yankee Stadium this week with no expectations. Everything from this point onwards is a bonus, and that's dangerous for a New York team who are the complete opposite. Cleveland won't be daunted with the chance at taking down one of the heavyweights of the league, and their chances to cause an upset in Game 1 are decent against a somewhat shaky Gerrit Cole. The New York pitcher hasn't exactly been pitching well over the past month, despite the Yankees still getting Ws for the most part. Cole has given up 17 ER over his last five starts, including nine home runs. While the Guardians aren't prolific home run hitters, they know how to get the ball into play and work the opponents over. 

They'll also have the benefit of their No. 1 ace in the hole based upon recent form in Cal Quantrill. The Guardians have won 15 of the last 17 games where Quantrill has started. The upset is on.

Padres vs. Dodgers, 9:37PM ET

San Diego got out of Queens with the series win over the self-combusting Mets over the weekend, but now they are faced with the monumental task of trying to take down the current World Series favorites in Los Angeles. The Dodgers have had the benefit of a couple of days of and will be buoyed by the fact that the Padres had to burn through a big Joe Musgrove performance in Game 3 against New York, leaving them with Mike Clevinger to overcome. While Clevinger is still a good pitcher, he has struggled against the Dodgers this year with a 0-2 record and 9.69 ERA from three starts. LA will take care of business here.
