Friday MLB Parlay Analysis
Baltimore Orioles vs Detroit Tigers, 6:41 PM ET
LEG 1: 1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-154) with DraftKings
It’s Friday so it’s time to have fun with a No Run First Inning (NRFI) parlay. Let’s see if we can hit one of these and we’re going to Detroit for the first leg.
We cashed this exact NRFI yesterday. Considering how bad the Tigers are in first inning runs (30th), I’d be willing to take a chance on this one again.
The Tigers had runners on first and second with no outs and still couldn’t score that inning. We were lucky but it checks out considering how hapless their offense can be at times.
The Orioles aren’t much better in the first inning. Baltimore is 26th in first inning runs. The Orioles are a slower starting team so they usually take a few times through the order to score.
Last week, these two pitchers already faced one another. There wasn’t a run scored in the first inning, so let’s hope history repeats itself today.
Chicago Cubs vs Miami Marlins, 6:41 PM ET
LEG 2: 1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-136) with DraftKings
This is the NRFI I chose in our daily picks video so naturally we have to include it in this parlay.
The Cubs are only 20th in first inning runs. They’re an aggressive offense but I think Jesus Luzardo takes care of them today.
Luzardo is 5-0 on NRFIs this season. I’ll take my chances with him against the top half of the Cubs order.
The Marlins are 28th in first inning runs and we’ve had success with their NRFIs all year. They face Marcus Stroman who is 5-0 on NRFIs this season.
Any way you slice it, I love this parlay leg. We just need both pitchers to bring it as they’ve done this year already.
New York Yankees vs Texas Rangers 8:06 PM ET
LEG 3: 1st Inning Under 0.5 Runs (-128) with DraftKings
Our next leg for our NRFI parlay takes us to Texas. The NRFI hit here yesterday, and there’s a good chance it hits today again.
Clarke Schmidt is 3-2 on NRFIs this year. Texas is 8th in first inning runs scored.
I expect Schmidt to be able to navigate his way through the top three hitters. On the season, his meltdown inning usually comes later in the game.
DeGrom starts for Texas and he’s 5-0 on NRFIs this season. The Yankees are 9th in first inning runs, but they don’t face an ace like this everyday.
With potential injury concerns for Judge, I like our chances to get out of the first inning without a run scored.
