Atlanta Falcons 2022 Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

The 2022 NFL season is firmly on the horizon and over the coming weeks the Dimers crew will break down the chances of each and every team, all vying for Super Bowl 57 glory in Glendale, Arizona come February.

Let's take a look at the key factors to consider when betting on the Atlanta Falcons in the 2022 NFL season.

This season figures to be a rebuilding one in Atlanta, to put it mildly, but the Falcons do have some young talent to give their fans some reason for hope down the line, but a Super Bowl appearance this season is unlikely.

Atlanta Falcons Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

Atlanta Falcons

  • 2021 Record: 7-10, 3rd in NFC South (missed playoffs)
  • 2021 ATS: 6-10-1
  • Key off-season losses: Russell Gage WR, Matt Ryan QB
  • Key off-season additions: Drake London WR, Marcus Mariotta QB

Atlanta Falcons 2022 Win Total - 5

The Falcons have downgraded at the quarterback position from Matt Ryan to Marcus Mariota. Ryan threw for 3,968 yards last season and 20 touchdowns with a mediocre receiver room. Mariota is not a bad quarterback to have on your roster, but he is not going to make anyone better with the depleted group of weapons Atlanta has. He is very much a stop-gap option.

Calvin Ridley is suspended this season due to sports betting, and 6-foot-6 Kyle Pitts and 6-foot-5 Drake London are the best receiving options. Pitts had 1,026 yards and one touchdown last season and looks like he could be the best tight end in footabll soon. Cordarrelle Patterson, who used to be more of a receiver, has become a running back under head coach Arthur Smith.

The Falcons also don’t get after the quarterback and that is why they are going to lose a whole lot more than they’re going to win this season. Even five wins may be too much to ask.

DimersBOT: In our model's 10,000 simulations of the upcoming NFL season, the Falcons averaged 5.37 wins per year. With that said, we have a slight lean on the Over. But that doesn't mean you need to bet this one.

Atlanta Falcons X-Factor - Drake London, WR

It might be unfair to put a rookie wide receiver on the hot seat for the Falcons, but what else do they really have on this roster right now at this position? There is a reason why Atlanta drafted him eighth overall out of USC.

The 6-foot-5, 209-pound London will be a big red-zone threat, has good physicality and has great hands. London caught 88 passes for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns last season with the Trojans.

Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl 57 Chances

Atlanta is going to be in for a very long season. The Falcons are preparing for a long rebuild and that is where they are right now after trading Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Falcons are not going to win many games this season, so you can forget about a Super Bowl.

DimersBOT: You shouldn't need our model to tell you not to back this Atlanta team to win it all, but we only have the Falcons with a 0.1% chance to win their division. That should tell you everything you need to know about how we feel about their championship chances.
