2022 UCL Final: Liverpool FC vs. Real Madrid, Stade De France, Saturday May 28, 2022
Not to make this all about me and my own interests, but now that Tottenham have qualified for next year's Champions League I feel uniquely qualified to bring my expert analysis to this competition (so yes, I made this entirely about me).
And, while I happen to dislike both of these teams for a number of reasons on a personal level, I’ll set that animosity aside to find an angle for us to make some money on the last meaningful game of the season.

While it may not be the most obvious time to address the issue, I think talking about bias is the right way to round out this season’s intros. Every one of us is a fan and a gambler, and being able to separate the first from the second is crucial in making smart bets.
So, when it comes to a final between two huge clubs, there are very few people watching the match who DON'T have some sort of opinion on each club (something I’ll admit to myself). The key, as I see it, is to try to explain your way through every bet.
One of the best parts of these articles is that I have to justify every decision I make. If I don’t do a good job then people won’t trust me, and I have to deal with the shame of misguided analysis when bets miss.

So, I take great care to give you my rationale, and I frequently start writing picks and scrap them when I realize I don’t have a good enough justification.
Taking the time to do that for every bet you make is probably not worth your time, but remember to walk through why it is you like a pick.
That thought process will help show you when your bets are more based in personal opinion than logic, and will help you become a better gambler.
With that, let’s get to the last bet of the year!

2022 Champions League Final
Liverpool FC vs. Real Madrid
Saturday May 28, 3PM ET
One of the biggest challenges for this match is trying to figure out what the fuck to make of Real Madrid. Benzema and Vinicius have been incredible, but this is also a club that probably should have been knocked out in each of the last two rounds. So, team of destiny or side that’s due to get smacked down?
While I think I lean towards the latter, I’m going to do the rational thing and avoid that decision by going with Liverpool team total over 1.5. From the last 4 Champions League legs, the one thing I learned about Madrid is their defense is a liability.
They might be able to overcome that liability with offensive prowess, but they’re going to give up chances and, most likely, goals. With Liverpool's offensive quality I just don’t see Madrid being able to hold them down, especially with Salah good to go, and this game should see goals.
You could tell me that Madrid will score anywhere from 0-4 in regulation and I would believe you, but the outcome I’m more confident in is Liverpool finding a couple.
I hate to back the Scousers for anything, but this is the angle to attack on this match.
