2022 NFL Season: The Top 5 Bad Beats of Week 2

It was a weekend of miraculous comebacks and general craziness. Week 2's edition of Bad Beats is a good one.

NFL Week 2 Bad Beats

1. Justin Fields 2+ Touchdowns for $32,000

He took out the top spot in our Bad Beats from Week 1, and wouldn't you know it, Twitter user @_NickKlinger has done it again. This week, though, was perhaps one of the sickest bad beats you'll ever see. With a $126 two-leg Same Game Parlay placed with FanDuel Sportsbook for the Sunday Night Football game between the Packers and Bears, the bettor had some real momentum when Aaron Jones had two touchdowns to his name to half time, cashing one of the legs and leaving just Justin Fields to get into the endzone one more time after scoring the first touchdown of the game.

Fields was deemed to have scored by the referees early in the fourth quarter on a 3rd Down, only for the play to be overturned upon review. With a 4th and Goal situation on the very next play, the Bears elected to run a QB Sneak play, only for Fields to be held up on the cusp of the goalline. That play, too, was reviewed, but it was deemed as not having enough evidence to be overturned. So close to $32,000. Twice.

2. Hollywood Brown Anytime Touchdown for $67,000

Justin Fields wasn't the only hard luck touchdown parlay of the day. Earlier on Sunday, a number of bettors had tailed a 5-leg Anytime Touchdown parlay, originally posted on Twitter by user @kwang5288 including DJ Moore, Christian Kirk, Pat Freiermuth, Rashod Bateman and Marquise Brown all to score. With four of the legs down, the collective group of bettors held their breath with Brown the last remaining leg to cash the +34328 parlay. With 8 minutes left in regulation, Kyler Murray was able to pick out Brown with precision, leading to a catch that was marked down at the 1-yard line.
While the original ticket posted would have won $34,428.71, the unfortunate honor of worst beat goes to user @j2110_ who tailed the play for a $200 outlay, missing out on a potential $67,000 collect.

3. Over 51.5 Points for Almost $5,000 on MNF

When the rampaging Bills closed out the dying minutes of the third quarter of their matchup against the Titans with a Pick 6 to make it 41-7, Over 47 bettors were lining up at the cash counter to collect their tickets.

Even bettors like Twitter user @Slaylen - who decided to sell a few more points and add an alternative total of 51.5 points to their parlay - could still be comfortable in the fact that they still had over 18 minutes of game time to cash their ticket. Unfortunately, though, the Bills and Titans didn't score again, leaving Slaylen's epic 11-leg Same Game Parlay at odds of +95000 falling short in the most agonizing of ways.

4. Hunter Renfrow 60+ Yards for $7500

A lot of crazy shit went down at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon as the Raiders fumbled the bag and let the Cardinals - off the back of a textbook schoolyard Kyler Murray performance - get back into the game from 27-3 down and pull out the Overtime victory.

With four legs down on @Aaron_scams26's parlay, all he needed was some Hunter Renfrow yards to turn $50 into just over $7500. However, the Las Vegas wide receiver could only muster 59, falling just one yard short of the required 60+ that would have cashed the ticket. Nightmare.

5. Derrick Henry 2+ Touchdowns for $10,000

We started the article off with him, and unfortunately for this guy, he's going to end our Bad Beats article for Week 2 as well. Our friend @_NickKlinger, undeterred by his monumental bad beat on Sunday, was looking for redemption during Monday Night Football when he ran back the 2-leg, 2+ touchdown parlay for Titans vs. Bills, selecting Stefon Diggs and Derrick Henry to get the job done to payout $10,000 from a $136 bet.

It looked like this story due for a happy ending when Diggs had two touchdowns before halftime, adding to Derrick Henry's one touchdown in the first quarter. But, alas, the lone Henry touchdown was the only time the Titans scored on Monday. As REM once sang: everybody hurts... sometimes.

We'll be rooting for you next week, Nick!
