2022 NFL Futures Betting: Post-Week 8 Updates on MVP, OPOTY, DPOTY and Other Player Awards

This season just hasn't allowed us to come up for air, as it feels like only yesterday that the year started and we’re now eight full weeks in. Join us as we take a look at who the favorites are in the big NFL award categories and let’s try and find some value on the way too.

We’ll get stuck into the movement within each market and hopefully point out some value for all of them. Each and every Tuesday we’re taking a look at the big movers in each category, so let's get into it.

If you haven't already, you should consider signing up for DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️ as you can turn a $5 pre-game moneyline bet on any game into a free $200 if your team wins.

Betting Updates on MVP, OPOTY, DPOTY and Other Player Awards

Most Valuable Player (MVP)

Josh Allen has been the favorite for weeks but his display against the Packers, poor by his standards as he threw two picks, has seen his odds drop from +125 to +135.

Jalen Hurts is waiting in the wings at +380. If he stumbles, Patrick Mahomes is back at +450. It feels unlikely that Lamar Jackson (+1300) or Joe Burrow (+2500) stand a chance now...unless something awful happens.

Offensive Player of the Year (OPOTY)

Hurts is still favorite for this at +500, shortening from +600, but we'd rather not make this another quarterback award, they’ve already taken the MVP as their own.

Tyreek Hill has come from nowhere to be second favorite at +800 and given that he’s on course to outperform his seasons in Kansas City perhaps he deserves it.

Justin Jefferson and Lamar are back at +1000, with Allen at +1100.

Defensive Player of the Year (DPOTY)

Okay, time to pack up and go home, this belongs to Micah Parsons now. In the past three weeks he’s moved from +100 to -110 and is now a best price of -213. Odds of -213 imply a 68.1% chance that he wins this award and in truth that probably feels less likely than he is.

It’s only injury stopping Parsons from winning this, in which case Nick Bosa (+850) and Myles Garrett (+1200) might be able to steal the crown.

Offensive Rookie of the Year (OROY)

Kenneth Walker is in the driving seat as a +150 favorite but he’s being chased hard by Dameon Pierce at +340.

This one is still wide open and a strong close to the season could see Chris Olave (+600) claim it, or any of the chasing pack of Drake London, Garrett Wilson or Wan’Dale Robinson, who are a little further back at +2000.

Malik Willis is an interesting shout given that the rookie led his Titans team to victory on Sunday. At +10000, could a strong end of the regular season help him grab the trophy? It’s a very tempting bet that’s for sure, especially when we know how much these awards favor QBs.

Defensive Rookie of the Year (DROY)

It’s Sauce Gardner (+180) versus Tariq Woolen (+300) at the top of the market and either man has a strong case for winning it.

Elsewhere pass-rushers Kayvon Thibodeaux (+1400) and Aidan Hutchinson (+1200) are still in the hunt. Just ahead of the Jags duo of Devin Lloyd and Travon Walker, who are both at +1700.

Coach of the Year (COTY)

This felt like a neck-and-neck race between Nick Sirianni and Brian Daboll, who were +140 and +250 last week. The Eagles winning while the Giants lost has sent Sirianni clear at -105 with Daboll also dropping to +550, but there’s still plenty left in this contest.

Daboll’s Giants lost to the Seahawks and Pete Carroll’s brilliant job in Seattle is starting to get noticed with the Super Bowl winning HC now fourth favorite at +1300. Given how he’s turned around Geno Smith’s career, he could be a shout.

Either side of Carroll, we have Kevin O’Connell third at +950 and Robert Saleh at +1400.

Comeback Player of the Year (CPOY)

Saquon Barkley has been the leader in the clubhouse for a while but his odds are slipping slightly and he’s now just a -155 favorite.

His main competition appears to be Smith at +260. Given his incredible performances this season, the Seahawks QB should really be favorite to win this award. Nobody saw him performing at this level and his career turnaround surely warrants recognition.

Elsewhere, Christian McCaffrey (+800) hit the hold trinity on Sunday with a passing, receiving and rushing touchdown. If CMC continues like he has done at the start of his Niners career then this could get close quickly.

Also worth noting that Derrick Henry’s demolition of the Titans has kept him fourth at +1200.
