2022 NFL Futures Betting: Post-Week 6 Updates on MVP, OPOTY, DPOTY and Other Player Awards

The bye weeks have begun so we’re well into the season now and the favorites to win each of the NFL’s big awards are starting to firm up. There’s still plenty of opportunity for bettors though, with nothing won after Week 6. Each and every Tuesday we’re going to take a look at the big movers in each category.

If you haven't already signed up for FanDuel Sportsbook, you might want to click ➡️ here ⬅️ and take advantage of a risk-free bet of up to $1,000. This is the perfect way to bet on the futures market, as you can use house money to bet on something that could turn into a massive payday at the end of the season.

Betting Updates on MVP, OPOTY, DPOTY and Other Player Awards

Most Valuable Player (MVP)

With Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes meeting in Week 6, we were always going to see movement in the MVP market and the Bills impressive win has seen Allen shorten from +220 favorite to +150.

That loss for the Chiefs has also seen Patrick Mahomes slide from second to third favorite, now at +550. Lamar Jackson’s defeat has seen his odds slide from +700 to +900 and Jalen Hurts has now been installed as Allen’s most likely challenger as +460 to win MVP.

Offensive Player of the Year (OPOTY)

Hurts might be second favorite to win MVP but he’s leading the betting to win Offensive Player of the Year at +600.

We can’t let a QB win this award given that we know they’ll win the MVP, so it’s down to one of the chasing pack of receivers to take it from him. Justin Jefferson is closest at +650 but Cooper Kupp, +700, and Stefon Diggs at +800 aren’t far off.

Defensive Player of the Year (DPOTY)

We may as well start writing Micah Parson’s name on the award now. He’s moved from +115 to +100 to win Defensive Player of the Year. But given the amount of injuries in the NFL it really isn’t a safe bet at those odds.

Myles Garrett has moved from +1700 to +1100 to take second place, with Nick Bosa at +1200 next and Aaron Donald and Rashan Gary both at +1800.

Offensive Rookie of the Year (OROY)

The Texans bye has seen Dameon Pierce leapfrogged as the favorite for this award. He’s moved from +500 to +550 and has seen that top spot taken by another running back.

Breece Hall had another monster game for the Jets on Sunday as they beat the Packers and he’s now the +280 leader for the award.

The top in the betting is rounded off by the Seahawks’ Kenneth Walker III at +750 and Commanders’ Brian Robinson at +1100, with running backs taking a clear hold on this award.

Chris Olave, Kenny Pickett, Drake London and Garrett Wilson are all between +1100 and +1400. Bailey Zappe’s performances for the Patriots have seen him priced at +1700 but with Mac Jones surely getting his starting spot back soon it’s hard to see Zappe as a smart bet.

Defensive Rookie of the Year (DROY)

Goodbye Devin Lloyd...you’ve dropped from +300 to +600 and see Sauce Gardner go the other way and become favorite. Kayvon Thibodeaux is now third favorite at +650 with Tariq Woolen behind at +800. The Lions bye week hasn’t been kind to Aidan Hutchinson who slips to +1200 alongside Travon Walker.

Coach of the Year (COTY)

Nick Sirianni remains at +150, keeping firm from last week. Brian Daboll is second favorite at +450 and it looks like a two-horse race, with Kevin O’Connell further back on +1200 and the fourth favorite Sean McDermott even further back at +2000.

Comeback Player of the Year (CPOY)

Saquon Barkley showed up again on Sunday with another hugely impressive performance from the most naturally talented RB in the NFL. That hasn’t moved the market though and he stays a -225 favorite.

Derrick Henry at +1000 and Christian McCaffrey +1200 aren’t his nearest rivals but aren’t particularly close. It feels like only injury can stop number 26 from winning this award now, which knowing Barkley isn’t out of the question.
