2022 La Liga Spanish Soccer Betting Picks
Welsh forward Gareth Bale could be a surprise starter for Real Madrid when it hosts Espanyol in Spain's La Liga soccer on Saturday, April 30 2022. Los Blancos only needs a draw to secure the league title and that seems inevitable against an Espanyol side that currently sits mid-table with only two wins from its past five games.
Spanish soccer expert, Michael Krumholtz, breaks down an intriguing weekend of soccer, where the La Liga title is likely to be decided. For full betting previews of every La Liga match this weekend, visit Dimers' La Liga Betting News section.
La Liga Betting Picks for Friday
Sevilla vs. Cádiz, 3:00 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Draw (+290)
Third-place Sevilla had Real Madrid down by two goals before blowing the lead and losing the match to a Karim Benzema goal in extra time.
It was a disappointing result for an otherwise great season that has Julen Lopetegui’s side on track to get back in the Champions League for a third-straight year.
Cádiz will be fighting for its lives as they try to stave off relegation. Recent wins over Barcelona and Villareal will have Sevilla on notice that Cádiz is capable of springing an upset, and the home team could garner a draw over the visitors.

La Liga Betting Picks for Saturday
Alavés vs. Villarreal, 8:00 AM ET
⚽️ PICK: Villareal (+111)
The Champions League darlings have shocked the world with their dramatic run to the European Cup semifinals.
But it hasn’t always been easy sledding for Villareal in domestic play, as the Yellow Submarine sit in seventh place and on the outside looking in for any European club tournaments next season.
Still, they should find easy work on the road at last-place Alavés who will need a miracle to stave off relegation.

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol, 10:15 AM ET
⚽️ PICK: Real Madrid (-213)
Los Blancos just need a tie out of this match to clinch their 35th La Liga title in club history. Few teams in Spain have been able to keep up with Real Madrid’s lethal duo upfront of Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr., and it doesn’t seem that an Espanyol side that has dropped three of its last four matches will stop them either.
Real Madrid may have bigger and better things on its mind as it tries to climb back against Manchester City and earn its first Champions League title since 2018.
Even with one eye on the second leg of its UCL semifinal, first-place Real Madrid will have little trouble against Espanyol.

Valencia vs. Levante, 12:30 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Levante (+225)
Levante’s 34-year-old captain José Luis Morales has quietly been a steady centerpiece over the years. His 12 goals in La Liga play, however, haven’t been enough this year to keep up Levante in line for a sixth consecutive season in the first division.
Valencia is led by a midfield duo of Goncalo Guedes and Carlos Soler, which has combined to score half of the team’s 44 goals this season.
But Valencia hasn’t won since March 19 and could be a prime candidate for an upset against a desperate Levante side trying to pull itself up from relegation.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Atletico Madrid, 3:00 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Athletic Bilbao (+205)
Diego Simeone’s defensive-minded side has won seven of its last eight matches as it holds onto its fourth-place position and a Champions League qualifying spot.
Atleti will be traveling to an up-and-down Athletic Bilbao team that beat them 2-1 in the Spanish Super Cup in the teams’ most recent head-to-head in January.
Madrid is down several key members, including striker Joao Felix, who will miss the rest of the season. That leaves the home team ready to spring another upset over Madrid, coming fresh off its three-goal output against Cádiz.

La Liga Betting Picks for Sunday
Elche vs. Osasuna, 8:00 AM ET
⚽️ PICK: Osasuna (+155)
Elche has won its last two matches and could make it three straight against an Osasuna side that should consider itself lucky to be as high as ninth place in the table.
These teams last played to a 1-1 draw in November, and we should have another tight one on our hands as Elche plays host this time around.
Though Osasuna remains banged up, they are getting a boost as midfielder Lucas Torro will be back from suspension. The visiting side should have the slight edge.

Granada vs. Celta Vigo, 10:15 AM ET
⚽️ PICK: Celta Vigo (+175)
Celta Vigo, led by veteran forward Iago Aspas, is looking to bounce back after getting upset by Getafe last week.
Granada is on the verge of relegation and has gone winless in its last four matches, however, the Nazaríes did hold Atlético Madrid scoreless in their last game.
Look for Celta Vigo to right the ship uninspiring Granada, as the creativity from their main man Aspas proves to be the difference.

Rayo Vallecano vs. Real Sociedad, 12:30 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Real Sociedad (+145)
Real Sociedad has only generated 32 goals in La Liga this year, by far the least of any team in the top six of the table.
For its part, Rayo is coming off a shock win against Barcelona on Sunday, giving it two straight league wins after a brutal 12-game winless streak in all competitions.
That makes it hard to trust the home team, despite its recent form. Real Sociedad has enough motivation to grab three points here and stay ahead of Villareal for qualification into next season’s Europa League.

Barcelona vs. Mallorca, 3:00 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Barcelona (-255)
Barcelona has surprisingly suffered three straight home losses (two in La Liga and one in Europa League), but look to rebound against an underwhelming Mallorca side that is still in danger of being relegated.
The injury to Pedri has clearly set Barca back, as they have not lost a league competition this season when their wunderkind plays.
However, this is still a Barcelona side that overpowers Mallorca at every position, making it hard to envision anything but a Barca victory.

La Liga Betting Picks for Monday
Getafe vs. Real Betis, 3:00 PM ET
⚽️ PICK: Draw (+220)
Getafe’s 24-year-old forward Enes Ünal will look to continue his great campaign, as his 15 goals is good for top three in La Liga.
But for its part, Betis has a number of players that have contributed to its high volume of goals this year. Those 56 goals in La Liga play have led to a resurgent season for Los Béticos, who could technically still qualify for the Champions League if Atlético Madrid collapses in its last two matches.
This should be a tightly contested match as Getafe relies on its defense to pull out a draw at home.
