2021 Sony Open in Hawaii: Preview, picks and bets
The Hawaiian Swing continues this week, with the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club.
We've got a slightly weaker field than last week, but it's still headlined by a host of the world's top players, including Webb Simpson, 2020 PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa and defending champion, Cam Smith.
Data-led probabilities for the winner, Top 10 and Top 20.
The favorite this week sits at around 11/1 with most books, meaning there's plenty of value on the board for us to take a swing at!

๐๏ธโโ๏ธ Outright winner picks
๐ Top Pick:
Collin Morikawa (+1300 or 13/1)
Bet $10, win $130
Morikawa couldn't quite get his putting going at Kapalua last week and if had've then he likely would've been even more in the mix than he was with his -20 (T7) finish.
A known winner, including being the 2020 PGA Champion, he will be out to get as many wins as possible this season, and will likely see this field as extremely gettable, especially if he gets his putter going, making him our top pick for the Sony Open.
He's not always seen as the biggest hitter, but who could forget when he played one of the shots of the year to to set up an eagle on his way to winning the 2020 PGA Championship๐
๐ฐ Value Bet:
Abraham Ancer (+2500 or 25/1)
Bet $10, win $250
If you need any reason to bet on Abe Ancer as he looks for his first PGA Tour win then his results so far in the 2020/21 season should be enough: T56, 4th, T28, T25, T13, T12, T11, T17.
Yep, that's four straight Top-20 finishes, including a T13 at the Masters Tournament back in November. He's going to win soon and you'll be kicking yourself if you miss the chance to get him at 25/1.
If you need more convincing, check out his highlights from the 2019 President's Cup in Melbourne, Australia below ๐

๐ฎ Dark Horse:
Marc Leishman (+5000 or 50/1)
Bet $10, win $500
The former Rookie of the Year winner (2009) has five PGA Tour wins, including a January win last year at the Farmers Insurance Open and it probably feels like he should have more wins.
The 2020 Sony Open was won by Australian Cam Smith (25/1 this week) and Leishman's odds are way too good if you're looking for another Aussie to get the dub this year.
As above, he won in this month just last year, with the highlights below ๐
2021 dark horse record:
Sungjae Im @ Sentry TOC - T5
As you can see, our first dark horse pick of 2021 had a great tournament, paying out those that bet him Top-5 and Top-10!
