2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions: Preview, picks and bets
The PGA Tour is back and as always, it returns with a bang with the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii at The Plantation Course at Kapalua.
Usually the opening tournament of the calendar year is exclusive to those who won tournaments in the previous season, but with all that's gone on in the world, it looks slightly different this time around.
Data-led probabilities for the winner, Top 10 and Top 20.
As well as all the 2020 champions, all of the top 30 players in the FedExCup standings who advanced to the 2020 TOUR Championship are eligible to compete this week, meaning guys like Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau will suit up.

🏌️♂️ Outright winner picks
🏆 Top Pick:
Justin Thomas (+750)
Bet $10, win $75
JT has been a common pick here at Dimers but for good reason, the guy is GOOD. When looking at the Tournament of Champions specifically, his record is second to none, including taking it out last year!
👀 JT’s results at the Sentry TOC:
— TRACKINGJT (@TrackingJT) January 2, 2021
2016: T21
2017: 🏆
2018: T22
2019: 3rd
2020: 🏆
🔥 Back at Kapalua in under a week, looking to start 2021 off with a W!
💰 Value Bet:
Viktor Hovland (22/1)
Bet $10, win $220
23-year-old Viktor Hovland finished 2020 as one of the hottest golfers on the planet, winning the Mayakoba Golf Classic before finishing T3 at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Part of the young crop of young stars on the tour, along with Collin Morikawa and Matthew Wolff, Hovland is often considered third of the three, but is going a long way to changing that perception.
His form is undeniable and with a breakout year and potential Top-10 status on offer, Hovland looks a great play at 22/1.

🔮 Dark Horse:
Sungjae Im (40/1)
Bet $10, win $400
Another youngster at just 22 years of age, Sungjae Im never misses the chance to play in a PGA event and will be raring to go after the enforced break over the holidays.
Sungjae qualified for the TOC by winning the Honda Classic back in March but his most impressive performance came at the Masters in November, where he finished T2 with Australian Cameron Smith.
Sungjae is much better than a 40/1 shot this week, and if you need a reminder of how beautiful his game can be, tune into these highlights from the aforementioned Masters, where he finished with the lowest ever score to par for a debutant 👇
2020 dark horse record:
Brendon Todd @ RSM Classic - T37
Webb Simpson @ Masters - T10
Adam Scott @ Houston - T32
Luke Donald @ Bermuda - T40
Jordan Spieth @ ZOZO - T41
Cameron Smith @ CJ Cup - 11th
Harold Varner III @ Shriners - 13th
Kristoffer Ventura @ Sanderson Farms - T6
As you can see, our dark horse picks have been pumping out great results (all have at least made the cut) and should always be played for Top-20 and Top-10 finishes, as well as sprinkling some pizza money on them to win outright!
