Best Golf Predictions
2021-22 Houston Open Best Pick
Scottie Scheffler +1800
Bet $10, win $180 at BetMGM
There is a lot of value on the board this week, with the favorites starting around +1500 with most books, and the top of the list is exactly where we are starting.
Most books have Sam Burns and Scottie Scheffler as the top chances this week, and when it comes to Scheffler in particular, we agree.
The 25-year-old is yet to get his first victory on the TOUR, but with this event down in his native Texas, it could just be the week!
Last season saw Scheffler make 24/29 cuts, with his best results being 2nd in the Match Play (see below) and 3rd at Memorial.
The young star was ranked 17th for shots gained: off-the-tee in 2020-21, as well as 21st in shots gained: tee-to-green, showing that if he can roll the rock this week, he will be right in with a chance.
Here's Scheffler duking it out with the best player in the world π
2021-22 Houston Open Value Pick
Brooks Koepka +3000
Bet $10, win $300 at BetMGM
Brooks at big odds? Yep, that's value.
Although the four-time major winner has yet to hit top form in this fresh season, he's still the biggest alpha in this field and likely the best player on paper too.
But looking beyond that, there's some legitimate reasons that Brooks is presenting value this week.
First of all, he finished T5 here last season, in an event that had a stronger field than the one this year (2021 saw DJ and Hideki finish in the Top-5).
Next up is his form when coming off a missed cut like he is this week. In the last four times he has missed the cut, Brooks has backed it up with three Top-5 finishes, including a win and a 2nd. The other though, was another missed cut!
Overall, we shouldn't really be getting this guy at these odds, just like we explained when he won the Waste Management at +5500 last season.

2021-22 Houston Open Dark Horse
Brian Harman +8000
Bet $10, win $800 at BetMGM
Our dart this week comes in the form of the left-hander from Georgia, Brian Harman.
Harman is a two-time winner on the TOUR, with his most recent coming back in 2014.
But even though he hasn't won in a while, Harman is still a solid week-to-week prospect that both DFS and Top-20 bettors are more than familiar with.
The 34-year-old made 24/28 cuts last season, including a T24 finish at this very event.
Harman had five Top-10 finishes in 2021-22, with his best asset being his short game, noted by a ranking of 13 in shots gained: around-the-green.
