Chargers vs. Colts NFL Predictions for Monday Night Football on December 26, 2022
The Los Angeles Chargers are currently competing for a spot in the playoffs, so they'll be eager to earn a win over the Indianapolis Colts when the two meet at Lucas Oil Stadium at 8:15PM ET for Monday Night Football. The Chargers once again found a way to pull out a narrow victory last week, jumping into an AFC playoff spot with a 17-14 win over Tennessee on the final play of regulation. The Colts, meanwhile…oh boy. Well, they made NFL history but not in a good way. It’ll be interesting to see how they respond from blowing a league-record 33-point lead and falling in overtime, 39-36, in Minnesota last Saturday. According to Sportradar data available since 1930, the Vikings became only the second team in 1,551 regular-season or playoff games to trail by 30 or more points and still win

Chargers vs. Colts Odds and Betting Lines
Will The Chargers Cover The Spread?
The Chargers have won three of four since Thanksgiving and will be favored in each of their last three games, with the Rams and Broncos remaining after Indy.
Despite focusing on fixing a leaky defense during the offseason, Los Angeles hasn’t been able to deliver and aren’t healthy with Joey Bosa nursing a groin injury and Derwin James a quad problem.
If the Chargers are going to win this game by a touchdown or more, it’ll be up to Justin Herbert as usual. Herbert has favorite target Keenan Allen back and healthy, which is a major plus.
Will The Colts Cover The Spread?
Maybe a 34-0 halftime lead would help?
The football world will find out what the Colts are made of this week. Will they hang their heads in the wake of an embarrassing loss that sealed their playoff fate, or bang heads with the Chargers and come out on top?
Indianapolis is playing for pride. Nobody would’ve guessed the Colts ranking 25th in rushing offense at any point in the season, nonetheless in late December. But Jonathan Taylor has been banged up more than once and left last week’s game on the opening drive with a season-ending ankle injury.
Why The Over Will Hit
The Colts have allowed 93 points in their past two games, including 69 after halftime, although only one of their home games has surpassed this week’s Over/Under number and that came in Week 6 against Jacksonville.
The Chargers, with the No. 3 passing offense, have a myriad of weapons for Herbert to work with now that Allen and Mike Williams are finally healthy at the same time.
Why The Under Will Hit
Despite their overall struggles, the Colts (4-9-1) rank No. 12 in the league in total defense, allowing 329.3 yards per game despite giving up what felt like a thousand in the second half in Minnesota.
Indianapolis has a respectable 39 sacks and yielded 49. Those numbers could lead to third-down failures for both sides and plenty of punts.
Chargers vs. Colts Prediction
Lean: Chargers -4
Although this game figures to be tight because that’s just the way most Chargers games go, the Colts are in a fragile state of mind after collapsing in Minnesota and are without the services of Taylor.
