Will 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo play vs. the Rams on Thursday Night Football?

Update as of 8:22AM on 12/12: Sources have relayed to NFL insider Adam Schefter that 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo plans to play in tonight's game vs. the Rams.

Guerendo, listed as questionable with a foot sprain, says he "feels good," per sources.

Original article below:

San Francisco 49ers RB Isaac Guerendo remains questionable for Thursday Night Football vs. the Los Angeles Rams after sustaining a foot injury in Sunday's victory over the Chicago Bears. Those looking for an injury update on Guerendo will need to closely monitor his status leading up to Thursday Night Football.

After Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason both sustained injuries in Week 13, Guerendo stepped into the 49ers starting RB spot.

He excelled in the role, logging 78 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, doubling his previous total on the season of two scores, before exiting in the fourth quarter.

Despite the injury, Guerendo remains questionable and his Week 15 status remains to be determined.

Is Isaac Guerendo Playing vs. Rams on Thursday Night Football?

Guerendo's status remains critical for fantasy football managers, many of whom have been hoping to steal a starting RB in the playoffs by picking up Guerendo after McCaffrey's season-ending injury, however that could come to an abrupt halt if he's not ready to go for Thursday Night Football. 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan offered an update, but didn't reveal much, his usual style.

"We'll evaluate him over the next few days and see if he's got a shot (for Thursday)," Shanahan said on Monday afternoon.

Behind Guerendo, the 49ers have just recently signed Patrick Taylor Jr., who scored a touchdown in relief of Guerendo on Sunday, and practice squad reserves Israel Abanikanda who was cut loose from the Jets, and Ke'Shawn Vaughn, a former third-round pick by the Buccaneers who played some preseason ball for the 49ers.

Guerendo did not participate in the 49ers' walkthrough on Tuesday and was listed as limited for Wednesday's practice. The 49ers latest injury report as of 4:10PM ET on Wednesday afternoon lists Guerendo as questionable.

Our Current Projections for Isaac Guerendo in 49ers vs. Rams Thursday Night Football Matchup

Should Guerendo be ready to go, our models projects a similar output to his most recent game, though he gets an even stronger probability to find the end zone.

Presently, here's how we project Guerendo to perform on Thursday Night Football vs. the Rams, compared to the sportsbooks' posted lines and odds, a well as our limited projections for Patrick Taylor Jr. behind him:

PLAYERRUSH YARDSREC YARDSANYTIME TD %FIRST TD %2+ TD%
I. Guerendo

P. Taylor Jr.
20.4N/A14.4% (-125)2.9% (+550)1.1% (+475)

The odds for Guerendo and Taylor to score are close enough on the sportsbooks where they seems to believe if Guerendo plays, it will be in a split timeshare with Patrick Taylor.
